Re: The Tolkien Translation Game!
It was said by one Man to another Man.
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
Re: The Tolkien Translation Game!

Thanks, Jude!
I will amend my previous statement that I have no idea where "heart" came from; it was translated from a word that is a different aspect of beings. Otherwise, the quote doesn't change all that much, but the meaning is completely different.

Okay, maybe it's this one (I considered it ages ago because the first two words were the same, but decided against it because the rest was too different):
(The King to Aldarion)Say rather, some men, of like mind with yourself.

Yup, that's it. Somehow mind became heart.
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

New quote:
Also, I will drink it quickly with my beard wet and go home.

Is it Quickbeam speaking to Merry and Pippin?
Also I drink quickly, and go out while some are still wetting their beards.

Sorry for the delay in getting the next quote posted. I'll hopefully find a good one by tomorrow, but Sunday Night Football will take up most of the rest of my day today.

Spoken in Rohan, I assume.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

I'm actually a Cowboys fan—a fandom I inherited from my father, who started rooting for them in the Seventies in what I'm pretty sure was an act of youthful rebellion against his family of Steelers fans—so I was pretty pleased by the outcome last night. Helluva fourth quarter!
Here's the next quote:
Here's the next quote:
I'll try, but just imagining that smell makes my heart warm and I scream.

The speaker is a Hobbit, yes!
Re: The Tolkien Translation Game!
Was it spoken during the journey to Bree?
