Re: Gosh, no you tube thread?
Saw the link two days ago while at work, so left it for later; and later I forgot about it.
I'm glad you bumped the thread, as it reminded me.
It is powerful and raw.
I feel uneasy about it, though, with two kids who are vulnerable to depression and who have had suicidal thoughts in the past. I fear anything that could trigger them in future, but mainly I want to not think about it - not that avoidance can do any good, but I'm an emotional coward sometimes.

Mornings wouldn't suck so badly if they came later in the day.
Re: Gosh, no you tube thread?
I am not in an emotional place where I can watch it right now. I'm sure it's great, and I'll probably watch it someday soon, just not now.

Lali, my dear one,
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Mozart fans will get a kick out of this:

Adorable!
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Mozart does make it better! If only it were so.

I had no idea this much drama could be contained in chewing gum commercials, but that's Japan for you.

Wow!

That was lovely Alatar.
Starry Night is a special painting. It's the only 'imaginary' landscape that Vincent was known to have done. He preferred to paint 'plein air' or in front of a subject. He painted this while he was in the hospital at St. Remy (also the reason he painted about 40 self-portraits while there). Some consider Starry night to be one of the most spiritual of paintings.

One of the best music videos I've ever seen on YouTube! Paul McCartney and James Horden touring Liverpool and visiting some of Paul's haunts from his younger days, including the house where he grew up:

When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,

That may well be the best thing ever.

Re: Gosh, no you tube thread?
Thanks, Alatar! I seem to have mastered YouTube videos on other sites, but not this one!
Can you just imagine being in that pub?
I didn't catch that Corden was quoting the lyrics from "Help!" in his opening phone call until I'd listened to the video twice. Need to resign my 1960's Classic Rock membership card for missing that!

Let's go back a couple of decades and experience Fry and Laurie near the beginning of their careers:
I used to watch "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" when I lived in the UK. Some of the greatest comedy ever!
