I think they look scary.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

We always go to Killarney in June for the AIMS awards, but I'm half afraid they'll be shut down by then. They're using all those names without a license!

Really? Do we know that for sure? Even if we don't know it for sure, it is pretty good guess, isn't it?

Yeah, he was asked about it on the radio and said something like "No we don't but sure they're welcome to come for a pint and chat about it!"

Oh well, maybe they will escape the attention of the Estate, at least for a while.

So this lady did a lovely recording of the Song of Nimrodel:

She has a few other Tolkien songs too, though I haven't listened to the others yet.

Mornings wouldn't suck so badly if they came later in the day.

Oh my goodness! I love that!

That's unbelievably detailed. Truly a labor of love.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Yes, it's incredible achievement. The lady who made it used to post on the old New Line Hobbit Blog...

I could see getting obsessed with building something so detailed and beautiful and minuscule. The bit that most blew me away was the well-stocked pantry! Making all those tiny foods by hand. . . .

I would be more likely to buy a shirt that had your old Calvin and Hobbes Éowyn/Witchking cartoon on it.
