Nature Pics

Post by Dave_LF »

Indeed; I did a kind of delayed double-take once my brain had time to register that it was actually abnormal to be seeing something so normal.

Noice! Thank you. :)

We had blue skies for a while today before it turned gray again.

Rose, here's a picture from Maui that popped up in my Facebook memories from 9 years ago today, when Beth was running the Maui Oceanfront Half Marathon.

She was first in her age group, as well. :)

Impressive on every count.

Oh my.. how nice! What beach is that? I was aware there is a big triathalon in Kona on the Big Island.

Alas, I am not a runner (not built for it) but I do miss swimming!

Here is a map of the course. The Half Marathon starts at the Marathon Finish line and goes to the point where it says "1/2 Turn Back" and then back. I don't remember which beach the picture was taken at.

OhMyWord. The whole thing (entire red line) would be a really long distance. I mean, even in a car that's a very long way. Part of it must have been on the road. I can't imagine access to the beach all that way, but there are many really nice beaches along that stretch. Good for Beth!

Ah.. the carefree warm days.. I'm SO glad we had that break, we really needed it. I will have to post photos from time to time.

(Some of it was on the road, which was closed to traffic. Some of it was on a bike path. And some it was on the beach.)

Every time someone posts a picture of Hawaii I'm absolutely flabbergasted by the sheer beauty.

When I was growing up, and for most of my adulthood, I never in a million years thought I'd ever go to Hawai'i. I've been there 3x now, and to New Zealand.. something I thought was a pipe dream, and many other wonderful places. I am truly fortunate and humbled even thinking about it.

This was the view from the little house that we rented in Hana (on Maui) nine years ago.

V.. I know exactly where that is!! Not far from where we were. We had limited accommodation options due to needing 2 rooms, and Hana isn't exactly a hotel hot-spot. It's a lovely area, if one can manage the drive!

Bummer that the video does seem to work. Let's try this.
