It sure looks pretty.

My favorite story related to V's photo was by someone who used to work at the Santa Cruz boardwalk. It goes, the tourists used to ask if that view was Hawaii. No, the workers would say, Hawaii is further South. That's Japan.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

We're expecting a blizzard starting tonight. There's still time to make it up here!

Jude: Get ready.. get set.. GO! :P

Inanna, oh yes, it's pretty but it can be very dangerous when it's this heavy & wet. The winds are up to 40mph gusts and trees break hitting houses, power goes out, etc.. We've got a couple of trees I'm eyeing... Also, if the power goes out we have no water, cannot flush toilets, etc.. I've got buckets of water filled in the tub. The temperatures are going to drop this weekend to below zero. (-18 to -25C) so it probably won't melt until March/it won't melt any time soon.

Perhaps I'll post more photos after it's done. Here's our patio set. The snow isn't supposed to stop for about another 24 hours.
You're welcome to come sledding, once the roads are cleared in a day or so. ;)

Beautiful, but challenging.

Lovely photos Inanna. It looks like a nice, manageable amount of snow. What is that first building?

That’s Belvedere “castle”. A little fairytale building in Central Park.

What is it used for? It's very pretty. I wonder if we saw it (from a different angle) when we were there. Central park is huge, so we may have missed it.

Well there's a lot to see in NY.

Very true! It was our first vacation trip to a large city and we were pleasantly surprised by all of the wonderful things; the street festivals, open museum week, all kinds of things we hadn't planned, in addition to the wonderful things we did plan.
