Were the three hunters the only ones present?

Edit to bring to new page:
And I'm glad to see it again, it's short now, but I doubt I'll stay there.

No, nor was it said by one of them.
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

Is it Théoden?
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Do you have the quote?
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

My books are charging. :blackeye:

(I also have two different paper editions, but Kindle is easier to navigate.)

If someone wants to get the quote, go for it.

Is it, "And glad shall I be to see it again, though brief now, I doubt not, shall be my abiding there."(?)

Indeed it is. Your turn!

Thanks, Voronwë!

The next quote is longer in translation than in the original. Also, uh, well...
Yo, eyes open. An unidentified enemy has breached our coastlines in a swift and militaristic attack.

That looks like a Google translation of a Russian mil blogger.

Perhaps a hint? Neither "enemy" nor any synonym of it appears in the quote, but it is said to someone the speaker considers an enemy.

Is the word "coastlines" or something similar in the quote?
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

No. There is in fact only one word—"swift"—that was retained unaltered from the original.

Is "Yo" a translation of "Behold"? Or some other attention-grabbing word?
