I enjoyed Tenet, but this is strikingly accurate:

The dumbest thing I've ever bought
was a 2020 planner.
"Does anyone ever think about Denethor, the guy driven to madness by staying up late into the night alone in the dark staring at a flickering device he believed revealed unvarnished truth about the outside word, but which in fact showed mostly manipulated media created by a hostile power committed to portraying nothing but bad news framed in the worst possible way in order to sap hope, courage, and the will to go on? Seems like he's someone we should think about." - Dave_LF

This is the new single from Siomha, a woman I worked with in Bunratty about 15 years ago. She crowdfunded the album and recorded over the last 2 years.

Re: Good music and other good stuff on youtube and Facebook
This Youtube Channel has a sample of the top song for every month from January 1950 to January 2021 (starting here). There's no exact method for comparison, but you get the idea.
Interesting how some very popular songs become classics and others get forgotten. Interesting also to see people in the comments talk about a particular decade undoubtedly had the best music, ending with people born in the 1990s talking how great music was between 2006 and 2016.

I was reading an article in The New Yorker about Johnny Greenwood (Radiohead) and .. I didn't realize he is quite the composer (of classical music/score). Give a listen to the soundtrack from 'Power of the Dog'.

Not sure if the artist intended it to be a reference to Tolkien's character, but the comments would suggest so.

There is a podcast/video series on YouTube called 'Vaccine: The Human Story' by award winning human rights journalist Dr. Annie Kelly. There are 5 episodes which delve into the history of the vaccine including misinformation and anti-vax movements. It focuses heavily on the history of smallpox, a vaccine triumph but connects it to what we deal with today. I highly recommend it.

This old Andre Rieu video made my day! Who said classical music had to be boring??
When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.

So today I am “I heard this song in the grocery store and thought it was cool so I went and looked it up so I could listen to the whole thing” years old.
But in my defense, it is a really good song

I do that all of the time. I make good use of that 'Google what is this song' feature. I can hear why it caught your ear.

Re: Good music and other good stuff on youtube and Facebook
I did the same yesterday with "You don't own me" a song I heard sampled in a newer release.
I don't think I'd ever heard the full song. Hard to believe how relevant it still is nearly 60 years later.

I've certainly heard the song, but I've definitely never seen it song before. Thanks for sharing.

They sing that song at the end of 'The First Wives Club' film. (Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton)

Yep, one of the few songs from that era that tackles the subject of possessive men in relationships. But at the age I was when it came out, it made me think more about parental control... I was too young to have experienced the other side of it, and "Me Too" was many years in the future.

Does anyone have the link for that song where the percussion is a guy slapping himself? I want to show it to irika.

This one?
