LOL. My browser is blocking me from FB tracking so I can't see it on my desktop, but I spied it on my phone. Those are just awesome. I wonder if we get those on this side of the pond?

Last month's friends - I'm a little slow unloading my camera. These pictures of Tule Elk were taken just before sunset (5 PM locally) at Pt Reyes National Seashore.

As an aside, the easiest way to size these to post them here, is to post them on FB, then drag and drop them to my desktop, where they generally shrink from 3 MB to just under 1 MB.

That's the one thing that I still use Tap-a-talk for here. It is very good for easily resizing and posting images.

I love that sunset silhouette shot too, narya. They are all quite awesome.

Lovely sky Voronwë.

I should have taken a photo earlier, but I didn't have my phone with me on our walk. There were huge, fluffy flakes of snow coming down. Now it's just regular snow.

Gorgeous pictures!

Narya, how close were you to that elk? Unlike our deer, which is practically tame and obey traffic laws, elks are ornery and make me nervous.

The best pictures from last week were the ones I didn't get a chance to snap. A possum coming down the tree trunk head first and with its fluffy butt in the air. A scrub jay, industriously stuffing a peanut into my satellite dish housing. The deer were being cute, but I have too many photos of them.

Frelga, I had a telephoto lens and a respectful distance. At least two hundred feet, I'd say.

And more...
These were also taken with a telephoto lens. Other than rotating one pic to level the horizon, these are untouched. It really was that fabulous out there.

We didn't visit that park when we were out that way. It looks like we really missed out on a wonderful park.

It is, but there are lots of beautiful places around here, and Point Reyes is out of the way for a short visit. Unless you specifically want elk.

My secret is to camp for three days at Samuel P Taylor State Park, among the redwoods, and a very short hop over to Pt Reyes.

When we first settled in California in 1989 and lived in Fairfax for half a year or so, before eventually moving down to Santa Cruz County, we spent a lot of time in Samual P. Taylor State Park, which is just down the road (Sir Francis Drake Blvd, to be specific) that we lived on. Love those trees.
