That was my impression from the trailer. I was wondering why on earth would we want Weird Al's biopic, but it isn't that. It's just a comedy, and from the trailer I surmise that it is intended to be a parody of biopics.

Glass Onion looks great, but I can wait until it's on Netflix. If the sequel had Chris Evans in it, I may have been tempted.

It is. A different sort of mystery than the first one, but a match for its quality.

I saw it with B last week. The last movie we saw together before that was the first Knives Out. It’s true we don’t go to movies very often, but that was an unusually long gap. A couple things happened to the business in between, though…

I'm actually looking forward to Avatar 2 in a couple weeks. I liked the first one a lot when it came out, and while that was probably in part because I was 15, at least that means the sequel will have nostalgia going for it in addition to any other qualities it may or may not bring. Plus, it's James Cameron, so I expect it to be worth seeing on the biggest screen possible.

I will never forget those spectacular 3D effects! I had seen 3D movies before, but NOTHING like this! They were so real!

Yes, it's the kind of movie that I would like to see in a theater. I often say that I like the movies in my head better, and if I go to a theater it's for something full of visual effects or action.

I may be the last person on earth to say this, but I finally sat down and watched Princess Bride. I've seen all the memes and references, and wanted to see the source material. It was cute, and the interlayering of Grandpa Columbo's commentaries kept it grounded in the not-too-cute, but I'm not sure how it got cult status. And it sure didn't pass the Bechdel Test. So what, exactly is it, that draws people to watch it multiple times? I admit I've watched certain movies repeatedly for the pleasure of being among old friends, but this one doesn't do it for me.

I think it's one of those things that require a tinge of nostalgia to truly appreciate.

On a similar note, we rewatched Willow (1988). It held up better than I had expected. I wonder if the wizard fu scene in FOTR was inspired by it, along with a couple other moments. Van Kilmer valiantly tries to play Schwarzenegger. But overall, if I didn't see it while I was still a teenager, it would not captivate me now.
