If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

The dumbest thing I've ever bought
was a 2020 planner.
"Does anyone ever think about Denethor, the guy driven to madness by staying up late into the night alone in the dark staring at a flickering device he believed revealed unvarnished truth about the outside word, but which in fact showed mostly manipulated media created by a hostile power committed to portraying nothing but bad news framed in the worst possible way in order to sap hope, courage, and the will to go on? Seems like he's someone we should think about." - Dave_LF

<- Y'know, THIS is almost as frustrating as this
I realize that I basically have the answer I just need to put the letters in the right order but if that had been my last guess? I had all the letters, I didn't have any letters that had already been discounted in that space by earlier words, it's just completely random which one is right or wrong.

Re: Games, Riddles, Puzzles, and other Distractions
My standard first four words didn't give me any correct positions in today's Wordle, which is uncommon, but they gave me all five letters, which doesn't always happen, either.

For awhile now I often (but not always) use the same first 2 words and try to get the answer from that. If I am not fairly certain or have a choice between only 2 or 3 words I use a 3rd word. Today was the first game where there were NO hits with my first 2 words.

Bad luck with Octordle today; one of those situations elengil mentioned where it's sheer dumb luck whether you pick the right answer from the options that fit what you know.

I did OK with Octordle today but I made 1-2 stupid mistakes on Sedecordle today. I can almost always get that in 18 tries.
