Re: Games, Riddles, Puzzles, and other Distractions
It would have been incredibly embarrassing if I hadn't gotten this one, given where I was after two words.

If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

V, I think your rich vocabulary is an impediment here. You just know too many words.

"Know" is a flexible word in this context.
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

New strategy for multi-games. I've come up with 4 words that rule in or out 20 letters, giving me 2 more chances to get them in the right order or figure out if it's one of the last 6. This is working well with Quordle, especially.

The dumbest thing I've ever bought
was a 2020 planner.
"Does anyone ever think about Denethor, the guy driven to madness by staying up late into the night alone in the dark staring at a flickering device he believed revealed unvarnished truth about the outside word, but which in fact showed mostly manipulated media created by a hostile power committed to portraying nothing but bad news framed in the worst possible way in order to sap hope, courage, and the will to go on? Seems like he's someone we should think about." - Dave_LF

Re: Games, Riddles, Puzzles, and other Distractions
I usually work with 2 starter words and then base my next words on what is left, even (and perhaps especially) if I'm stumped and need something totally new so that I'm not reusing letters. With Hurdle, it's a completely new words depending upon what's been played.

I, kinda, threw away the 2nd try. Those two yellows are the same as the 1sr one.
