You said "find out" was not an accurate translation. Are "miserable" and "sooner" accurate translations?
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
"Miserable" is fairly accurate, I guess. "Sooner"? Um, I guess not so much. But the original is an "-er" adjective as well, and if this adjective applies to you, you'll get there sooner.
The orcs will be miserable when our intrepid band of orc-hunters catch them?

"Does anyone ever think about Denethor, the guy driven to madness by staying up late into the night alone in the dark staring at a flickering device he believed revealed unvarnished truth about the outside word, but which in fact showed mostly manipulated media created by a hostile power committed to portraying nothing but bad news framed in the worst possible way in order to sap hope, courage, and the will to go on? Seems like he's someone we should think about." - Dave_LF
I just found it, before I saw Elengil's post, but I'll give her a chance first.
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
You might as well, I'm not finding it and I really should be working anyway

Okay, Aragorn to Legolas and Gimli: "And woe to them, if we prove the swifter! "
And a shout out to Frelga for immediately identifying the Three Hunters, as the next lines say: "We will make such a chase as shall be accounted a marvel among the Three Kindreds: Elves, Dwarves, and Men. Forth the Three Hunters!"
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
They may have found their welcome here warmer than they would have liked if you had accompanied them. But it doesn't matter because it wasn't their business.

"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
Yes, quite accurate. The biggest change in the last word, though even that isn't completely changed.
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
No. The Sackville-Bagginses were not even a blip on the radar.

It does not refer to any Dwarves. I think it is safe to say that the speaker was more scornful of the Naugrim that the person being spoken to.
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
Oooh are the sons of Fëanor involved in any way in this conversation?
