How'd it go, Al?

Incredibly well. I am totally drained though. There's some pics on Facebook if anyone would like a look.

Ping!!!!!!
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

I'd like to see it too, though I'm busy enough with my own right now that I may not be able to watch it for detail for a while

I'll just say it is very worth watching, and leave it at that.

Maria Callas Hologram Performance
What do you think? Ghoulish, or a wonderful tribute?

It would have been better if they based the hologram on real footage. In that clip they used a recording of her singing Carmen and based the hologram on footage of her singing unrelated arias. Why not build a 3D hologram on performances that we actually have films of?

Well, Scrooge! is over, and was by all accounts a resounding success. I'm worn out, sleep-deprived, and sick, but not so much that it stopped me from auditioning for the next one (a comedy), and being offered a part again. Rehearsals begin tonight. It's a disease, I tell you.
Re: Musicals and Operas
If you get a recording let me know! We can do swapsies!

I don't think one was made, unfortunately. We were all warned not to for copyright reasons. But someone may have done a bootleg that may turn up eventually...

Re: Musicals and Operas
Hey Al, I don't suppose you'd be in possession of a karaoke version of "I, Don Quixote" minus the interlude where they build the cart, would you? Or know where one could acquire such a thing?
Re: Musicals and Operas
I don't think so but Youtube is your friend for Karaoke versions!

Yeah; couldn't find one there I liked, though. Oh well; I'll keep digging, and maybe just resort to editing it myself.

Loved it! Only shortcoming was that it ended too soon.Alatar wrote:I have video that I can't share publicly for copyright reasons, but if anyone wants to see ping me for the password:

Re: Musicals and Operas
I really am.
(I actually thought the other link was going to be the full show, which is why I didn't get around to watching it until yesterday night when everything was snowed out and I had a couple free hours for a change)

So for those not on Facebook, our production of In the Heights has been nominated for three awards. Best House Management, Best Stage Management and Best Supporting actress for Abuela Claudia. Needless to say, we're delighted!
