Eyes wide shut? I don't get the "Y" in there, though. Must be something else.

Eyes Wide Shut it is.
Wide sounds like Y ... well, it does ...
Tosh, that's a good guess and would also fit except that it's four words.

Well see, I took the first smiley to be "eyes wide" because they sure are wide in that smiley.
Since I've already hogged the stage with three I won't do anymore, plus I have no new ideas at this point!
I'm thinking of a non-smiley variant of messageboard charades, maybe later today I'll try to start that up.

A non-smiley variant would be good! There aren't enough things that you can say with our smileys.

eta: Alatar, are both of yours the same thing? - one the movie and the other the TV show? Or are they two different shows?
If the latter, I would guess Lost for the TV show, but I don't know that it was a movie first.
The movie - wanted to say Dude, Where's My Car but that's too many words.

Jny, one of Alatar's is three words, the latter is one word.
Yes, I get that. But are they two different names for the same story - i.e. a movie renamed for TV? Or are they two different stories?

I can think of lots.
(No one has tried my last one yet)
But I can't guess Liddy's easy one. If Alatar's movie poser was one word I would say Clueless, but it is three words. Is Alatar's TV show a US one?
(But it isn't Friends, Cheers, Frazier or MASH)

I wanted to guess "Farewell to Arms" to
Tosh 's one, but I believe the book may be "
A Farewell to Arms"?
Either way I'm proud of myself for making the guess

*preens happily*
I'll never be able to generate one of my own ( well, I said I'll never be able to GUESS
) but I certainly won't be adding any to the mix right now!

Alatar wrote: Okay. It's a Movie. Three words.
Or, as an easy alternative, a TV show. One word.
Sorry, the first one is a movie and Tosh was incredibly close with his guess. In fact I considered that movie as an alternative to the one I chose. (funny how we're picking charades to match emoticons).
The second one is a TV Series. One word. I thought this one was a doddle to be honest! Unrelated to the first charade.
ETA: Yes Tosh, its a US Series.

Nope! It's actually both the name and the subject matter, if that helps any!

"Roswell" would fit with the second one. So would "X-files" in my opinion. "Invasion" I've not heard of ... that's an American show?
