It is so cold here, so I went back & worked on some fall photos we took earlier this year. We take the dogs out by this field almost every day, and I felt it was time to capture it...

I hope these aren't too big. I normally diptych these & resize them for our blog, but you are getting a special sneak peek:

I always love your pictures, Cem! And this is no exception.

These are film- shot with my handy-dandy Pentax K1000. I went back to my roots this year & started incorporating film in our business work (mostly for the weddings) and shooting my personal work on film. It hasn't been easy, but it has been worth it!

Very lovely! :)

Why do you think film is better than digital?

Yes, River, TTBK & I are heading into our 4th year of photographing professionally. :D Mostly weddings and families, with some of our personal work available as well. (For example, once I blog the above images, they will be available in our shop for prints!)

http://www.thekarths.com Feel free to check us out!

Lali, for me, it is more textile. It looks different, it has a different feel to the finished product. It also is more expensive, so it requires I take my time when shooting. I walk away with less images, but they are much better. We started with it being a sort of niche we could offer, and ended up hooked because of how much it has pushed us to grow!

ETA: Originally being a husband/wife duo was a niche, but since the photography boom of 2010 there are 4 others in our area that offer that as well, so we had to up our game. ;)

That's so cool, Voronwë!
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

For those not on Facebook, here are some pictures that I have been posting there from Maui (look for more over the next couple of days).

I had the wrong picture. That's the one I wanted.
