Image

Edited because I realize on further thought that it was mislabeled

Spectacular!
There is magic in long-distance friendships. They let you relate to other human beings in a way that goes beyond being physically together and is often more profound.

So beautiful. :) Ice-white falls on pale rock under a deep blue sky.

Not my pics (needless disclaimer) but some are so beautiful.

Also, pics of free climbing are awe-inspiring.

The Tuolumne Falls are spectacular, Voronwë! And are there caves in the rock face?

Lovely pictures, Imp. Also love the name (Bugaboos...) :)

Sam, if there are caves, I don't know about them!

I have to give Cloud's Rest it's due place. Had we done our original backpack plan, we would have crossed across that thing with full packs, including the narrow strip at the top. I'm kinda glad we didn't do that!

“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

My daughter drove up into the Cascades with some friends and got this picture of Sahalie Falls:

You'll have to take my word for it that it really is that green here. :D

I love that rich emerald green! It's something I yearn for, which is awkward when one lives in Australia. Even at its most lush, it is more blue-green than emerald.

It's hard to convey with photos. When the light is right, especially on cloudy days, it really does glow like that.

I haven't been up that mountain road in a while, though . . . need to go see those falls again for myself!

I'm not surprised at how green it is. You have to have some benefit for all that rain! :)

I don't appear to have posted a picture today. This looks interesting:

I saw these two old friends chatting with each other on the trail to Nevada Falls.
