I didn't much like episode 2. It seemed kind of disjointed. The pulling in of the "gang" seemed a bit contrived, and really didn't add anything. It reminded me of the devil's run episodes, but that was a two parter, so the characters had more of a buildup (and I still want to see more of some of those characters).

I also couldn't really get past having Mr Filch and Mr Weasley in the same episode of Dr. Who :).

Also the disjointed path of the Ponds is strange. It doesn't seem like a cohesive story for their final few episodes, which is kind of sad.

I did like having Rory's dad involved. The families of the companions in the recent Dr. Who story have always been important and Amy and Rory haven't had as much of that, although they are their own family :).

I'm going to be sad to see them go, but at the same time, they don't seem to be able to tell their story very well right now... which I suppose may be intentional. I think Amy and Rory might be my favorite companions, although they're all good :). I am confident the new one will be good, though :).

I just watch the first amy pond episode again... I can't get over how well put together the stories have been since that point... over all the seasons.

The eleventh and the ponds are just brilliant.

It was sad, but could have been so much worse. :cry:

Spoiler: The Ponds were able to live a long life together, without being split between quiet contentment at home or adventure with the Doctor. And they certainly proved their deep love for one another. The Doctor is the one who puts a tear in my eye. Someone who hates endings has to endure them over and over and over. And even River is aging and will one day be gone.

The "babies" totally TOTALLY gave me the creeps. :shock:

Donna was fabulous, and that was sad. :(

But for a long time, my favourite ever Nu Who finale was Ten and Rose bidding farewell on Bad Wolf beach (end of series 2).

The Angels Take Manhattan topped it. Waaaaah! :cry:

But it was awesome. :) Amy and Rory forever! :love:

And so good to see River Song. :)

The twist at the end totally threw me. They had me convinced the first episode was a totally different character, and I have no idea what they are doing with Miss Clara Oswin Oswald!

I just finally saw Amy and Rory's farewell. It took forever to convince my husband to watch it—he loves them both.

Hoping to get through the Christmas special and Saturday's episode before next Saturday. We have to go to a planning retreat at church, but it's over in time that we ought to be able to barrel home and watch in close to real time.

How many (fiction) TV shows have 50th anniversaries? I ask you. :P

I think Clara's going to be an excellent companion. She would have paired well with Tennant's Doctor. Then again, I think I would have paired well with Tennant's Doctor.

we all could have paired well with the doctor... because we're awesome.

I'm a big fan of amy and rory, prim.... but with the doctor, we all have to realize that time moves on.

I can't wait until the 50th... but I can't wait for any new doctor episodes... so not sure what that means :)

Agreed. The quality, the casting, the story lines are terrific, and all while carrying on the spirit of the original.

I tease Pandora (B77) that she is moonlighting as Clara. She is not an exact facial match but they talk in a very similar manner.
