The last movie you saw Thread
I’m @[myrealfirstandlastnameruntogether]. I don’t tweet much—I’m mostly there to follow writers whose work I admire and learn stuff, and also some politics. You’re welcome to follow me (anyone here is—PM me if you don't know my real name). I follow back unless asked not to. As for the category you m...

Re: The last movie you saw Thread
No kidding. I’m being driven mildly crazy by the fad for novel titles that do exactly this. They’re all THE GIRL WHO... or THE GIRL WITH THE... or [ADJECTIVE] GIRL, and the book is almost never about a 12-year-old (unless the plot premise is solving her murder, yechhh). Sorry to be off topic, but I ...

An excellent and insightful summation of the swamp we’re all up to our necks in.

You were on tour with the Dead? Or by that do you mean that you were following the tour?
Either way, cool! I was putting my husband through grad school (first) and having babies (second).
Not that that wasn’t cool, because it totally was. Really.

I like that, too.
There is a note of that which I hope applies to the current political environment in the United States.

Re: The Russia Investigations and other Trump-related cases
This whole thing—I can’t remember being so full of suspense about a political issue.
But I also can’t remember any time when the stakes were so high. And I lived through Watergate as an interested tween with politically aware parents.

And our president crosses another finished item off of Putin’s wish list.
Putin’s birthday must be coming up. What do you give to the man who controls everything? Something he wants but can’t control.

No, you are perfectly dignified, Voronwë. You can't help that cute things are attracted to you by some mystic process. We do appreciate your willingness to share.

Gosh, no you tube thread?
That was really well done. I suspect a high-school theater/show choir background, at least, for both of those men.
And it was cuuuuuute.

What a glorious subversive she was. Her 5 minutes of this are cogent, pointed, and true.

I share your vice. I mostly buy them on sale. And they take up NO space, so I’ll never have to KonMari them.
It’s also fun to read someone raving over a book and go to get a closer look on Amazon and find that I already have it.

Yikes! She must drink a lot of coffee. How long would all that take?

Jude! I am deeply, deeply interested! I will be at the beach in 10 days and will listen to your entire list. And then everyone else’s. Or as much as I can get through. I keep forgetting that I can now listen to music on my phone without any effort or anyone guessing. Jeez, I can listen while I groce...

Re: 2020 Presidential Election
Yes, there are some avenues open that weren't before; I echo your thanks, Voronwë. However, although I don't think the current Supreme Court would rule corruptly in Trump's favor (Chief Justice Roberts wouldn't let it happen), this administration and the Senate have almost two years during which the...

Re: 2020 Presidential Election
I still think it’s unlikely. But I now believe it could happen, whereas even right after Trump won I would have taken yov’s line. He’s an idiot. But he’s not the one making the important decisions, or even (sometimes) deciding what he wants to tweet about. He’s easily manipulated, easily intimidated...

Re: 2020 Presidential Election
I'm not sure I see a functioning future United States if Trump is elected again. It is possible. It happened all over Europe less than a century ago and is starting to happen there again. Even if we don't go the full Hitler route, I think it's possible we'll have an economy so broken that we become ...
