Thats ok guys. I have an approach to Tolkien that isn't purist, revisionist, or even pragmatist. I simply adore to see this story told, in many different ways, and to see the different approaches people take to that. Every production I've experienced, from Theatre Sans Fils, to the Symphony, from t...

sometimes in The Hobbit, England breaks through a bit too strongly

Isn't it kind of supposed to? ;)

Well, admittedly we're out of the Shire by then, but then Bilbo probably made their names up anyway. :D

Beautiful; absolutely beautiful. By far the best instalment yet (although I'm biased towards this scene, admittedly).

I heard William Nighy's voice as I read this.

Uton herian Tosh of the Wuffingas. ;)

So you have elected the way of PAIN!!! Ahhh ... Saruman the dentist. A la "Little Shop of Horrors." :D I'd completely forgotten that line. Thanks for reminding me of it! I actually really liked the wizarding duel scene, once I'd got used to it. But yes, Christopher Lee should have pushed ...

You can vote for the LOTR Musical in several categories in the "What's On Stage" awards, here:

If you so wish, that is. :)

I think Flanders and Swann should have written a "tuckoo" song. :D

Hi Rowanberry! No, I don't think we've met before. But we have now, and that's a Good Thing! :)

Hello, RoseMorninStar! :)

Baby tuckoo, we were just saying "Eglerio" to the good looks of Anthriel, and only doing so at Viggo's expense for a joke. Sorry.

Agreed - that's why Vigs looks so sulky in the Brego scenes.

Tosh, I LOVE your serialisation of LOTR!

Anthriel, he's acting a bit more like a Brego in that pic (although you look a lot better groomed than the rider of Brego!) ;)

Alatar, I've just watched the You Tube clip. That is quite a voice, tired or not! And a terrific production, by the looks of it. The lady reminds me partly of Gollum and partly of Mrs Thenardier - but I actually mean that as a very high compliment! Initially, though, in the picture alone, she remind...

What a lovely greeting, Anthriel-Atop-Shadowfax! (Or was it Hasufel? Or was it Arod? I'd best click back a page to see!)

No, I don't know Voronwë, but I've certainly enjoyed the posts of his that I have read. :)

Well, not a revolving one! I saw "The Producers" there, which was the last show it hosted before LOTR. For LOTR, they installed the stage and its mechanics deep in the bowels of the theatre, so they had to take to pieces the stage and front of auditorium to do it.

Wise and true words, Padme. :( It's even a little like what happens to Padme herself, isn't it? (Or perhaps she's a little closer to Míriel). I don't think Sam sails because the pain of his experiences is bearing down upon him, because he has carried on robustly for about sixty years. But I think on...

Thanks Axordil - for a moment I did think I was drowning! ;)

Eärendil is doomed to keep sailing across the sky until the end of Arda, though, isn't he, and never to see his sons again? I suppose Frodo's fate is slightly more merciful than that.

Ah, the demon barber of Fleet Street. Hence the poised knife.

Do you remember the Two Ronnies once spoofing the story as "Teeny Todd?"

Thanks Alatar. Can I be even nosier and ask you about the picture in your sig? It reminds me of a production of Moliere's "School for Wives" that I once saw.
