I love wine as much as the next person, but have already stated my opinion on SIDEWAYS. I think your appreciation of the film is not impacted in the least by your attitude towards wine. As far as TRANSLATION, I actually despised this film, it was a complete waste of money and time. They made the Jap...

jewelsong I was in my 20's before I first read LOTR. I then wanted to read everything I could find like that --- only to find out that there was nothing quite like it. I tried the first book in the Narnia series , read a small amount, and put it aside never to return to it. For what it is worth --- ...

I simply reviewed what I saw on screen. I already said I had NOT read the books. I reviewed a movie. These latest comments by Jewelsong only confirm for me the idea that if you read the books as a child, the movie probably is much dearer to your heart. I do realize that is not a hard and fast rule. ...

Jewelsong allow me to clarify a few things regarding NARNIA. As a kid, I did not read the books. In many reviews I have read it seems that this is rather important in ones appreciation of the film. Childhood readers hold a special place for the books and are already far down the path to liking the f...

Saw it this afternoon and felt is was rather mediocre with no emotional drama of any type. I was not entertained or stimulated nor was it fun. I am no POTTER fan but liked each of those better than this. Please - no more of these in the future. I felt that it was on the level of the DINOTOPIA TV ser...

My four year old grandson is mine for the afternoon and he wants to see KONG. I will skip the first hour plus the intense scenes of the natives on Skull Island because I think they would scare the daylights out of him. But we will watch the dinosaurs and rampage through NYCity. He just loves to see ...

TIME Persons of the Year

TIME Magazine has gone outside of the usual circle of government leaders to select three persons for their charity work as its Persons of the Year for 2005. Bill Gates, Melinda Gates and Bono were placed on the cover of this weeks issue for their charity work. The Gates couple obviously has more mon...

KONG was a three hour movie that seemed like it was a two hour movie. The more I think about it, my favorite scene was the forzen pond in Central Park scene. Something new and different and every sweet.

I have heard that when Mao took over China in 1949, he made two occupations illegal --- lawyers and prosititutes. Personally, I wonder why the prostitutes did not sue after such a slander being lumped in with such an unsavory lot as lawyers. ------------------------------------------------ Two lawye...

In the end, howard Shore could not do the job in the time that was set aside for it. He was replaced. Thats the way the real world works. Would it be realistic to postpone this film and miss the release date incurring more cost for the purpose of retaining Shore? Part of being a professional is to m...

I join Rowanberry in admiration of the Phil Spector efforts -- great stuff. I love the collection BACK ON MONO - of the great wall of sound that Spector was famous for before the recent unpleasantness. It tis sad. Nobody got as much from girl groups as Spector. He was a tremendous musical genius. To...

Critics review KONG -- first one says its jaw dropping

Those of who fell in love with Peter Jackson as a film maker because of his three LOTR films, perhaps wondered it it were more JRRT or more PJ that made them great. Could Jackson do it with other material? Here is your first answer. This gorilla of a film is blockbuster of the year by BAZ BAMIGBOYE,...

I also am not a big Christmas person and the music is generally not my cup of tea. But having said that there is my favorite that I can hear at any time of the year and enjoy it tremendously. PRETTY PAPER sung by Roy Orbison. I recently was talking with my good friend in New MExico who told me that ...
