Re: The (no longer) much too early 2024 election thread

they may try again, and this time they might have the votes. What is the basis for the statement "this time they might have the votes? Meanwhile, I think this a fair point from Simon Rosenberg, and points to a significant difference between this election and the previous two presidential elect...

Re: The (no longer) much too early 2024 election thread

I've read it. It's bad, but it's hard for me to see that it is all that different from what we already knew about Robinson. I doubt it will have any real effect on anything.

Re: The (no longer) much too early 2024 election thread

Surprisingly good poll out of Montana, showing Tester with a small lead in the crucial Senate race that most think will lead to the Democrats losing the Senate, showing the House race as competitive, and even showing Harris as only being 6 points behind Trump (I think Trump won in 2020 by around 20 ...

Re: The (no longer) much too early 2024 election thread

With regard to the Mark Robinson story (if there is one), remember that the North Carolina ballots already had to be reprinted because the NC Supreme Court ruling that RFK, Jr. needed to be removed from the ballot. My understanding is that the ballots that are to sent to people serving overseas were...

Re: The (no longer) much too early 2024 election thread

In an election that could be as close as this one seems likely to be, it could come down to which side has a stronger ground game to get out the vote.

And that is an encouraging thought.

There is so much that I do not like about this show. But Sauron the Deceiver is so good that I think none of it matters.

Re: The (no longer) much too early 2024 election thread

And then there is the Washington Post Pennsylvania poll, which has Harris and Trump tied in a head-to-head but Harris up one when other candidates are included. https://twitter.com/IAPolls2022/status/1836723242762920196 That's the second piece of evidence that Jill Stein might be taking more votes f...

And then the NY Times/Sienna poll had Harris up 4 in PA.

But tied nationally.

Re: The (no longer) much too early 2024 election thread

Sorry to keep posting polls, but this one from my alma mater and HarrisX is really interesting. If this can be believed (and I doubt it can), it applies that West and Stein and taking more votes away from Trump than they are from Harris, as it shows Harris only up by 2 points in a head-to-head, but ...

Re: The (no longer) much too early 2024 election thread

This Fox poll is interesting. On its face, it isn't a great poll for Harris, showing her only up 2 points (though in their last poll she was down 1). And in battleground states she is down 2 points. However, if you look closer, you will see that among independents, she is up by a robust 51% -39%, an...
