What a fun series that was to watch. The Sox have a few stars, but mostly they are a team with journeymen players who just win. I really can't explain how. Sure they have solid pitching and Koji is a machine, and yeah they can score runs too, but I think this is one of those times that the whole is ...

I do remember. We ended up with Manny instead and 2 championships.
No wonder the Mariners won 116 games after ARod left.

This is what is odd to me about "Obamacare". My health coverage hasn't changed at all really. I still pay no premiums and I still have a quasi "Cadillac Plan". The providers are still making profits, the lesser insured are now greater insured. The non insured are now insured. Whe...

I'll give "someone" credit for avoiding further war to this point. I suspect the credit should go to many people, but I'm really not sure who those people are. Maybe the President, maybe the Foreign Relations people, maybe the grunts. Honestly, as long as less people are being inhumanly di...

As an addendum; What Pete Rose, Joe Jackson (maybe) and the Black Sox did was more detrimental to the game. Maybe. Their sins were worse, but it is difficult to say which has had more of a negative impact. ARod lives in the "instant technological age", so his sins are apparently more damni...

At least the Black Sox had a greedy owner to help account for their degenerate ways. No even Pete Rose isn't on the same level with ARod.

He is by far the most self centered, egotistical star that had it all and gave it all away.

I know that in the scientific world there are multitudes of scales and factors. There are indexes and graphs and a plethora of means for measuring various amounts of data, masses, solids, gasses and pretty much anything. And yet, I am not certain if there is in fact a scum meter. I mean do scientist...

I have no idea, but I was speaking only of my life experience and what was and what is. It doesn't really matter to me who was in power or when, it is just what has happened and what is happening. I suspect a grieving mother doesn't really care who the president was or what country her child was kil...

I understand, I think, the willingness of our leaders to propose intervention in Syria. Apparently the use of chemical weapons crosses some sort of threshold that is found to be intolerable and that is something I can wrap my head around. I don't know enough about military strategy to know if a limi...

I find the wildly contradicting reviews really amusing. How can this movie be so long and drawn out, yet at the same time rushed. How can it be slow and boring, and at the same time too action packed. How is it there way too much plot and at the same time none at all. It just goes to show, reviews ...

The elves have had eons to attain knowledge and physical prowess without the worry of aging or becoming ill. Imagine what you could accomplish with 10,000 centuries at your disposal. You would have at least mastered life's mundane chores and had time enough to learn to walk over snow to boot.

I just thought it was dumb. But not nearly as dumb as the 8 rabbit open sleigh. Other than sending Sam away, that may be the most un-Tolkien like thing I have seen on film. And that includes Apache Aragorn and Viking Boromir.. edit: The list of un-Tolkien like things is obviously subjective a...

If a movie is good, the general population will talk about it and people will go see it. While I liked the Hobbit, I am not in the general population, nor do I think it was a particularly fantastic movie or anything new and exciting that would cause tongues to wag and people to flock to the cinemas....

Exactly what, just asking, is a pound of salt, worth in this day and age?

It seems to me like salt is being auctioned off at less than retail, imo.
