:rage: Well, nice charitable words Holby towards the Rockies! Not knowing anything about baseball, I am  about how the Rockies just turned into putty. I guess when the teams are at this level, much of what it's all about is mental, and the Rockies just got psyched out. Ah well. Still want t...

Wanna bet some Rocky Mountain oysters on that? :puke: Ah, no thanks. How about some Rocky Mountain chocolate factory chocolates to you if the Rockies lose, and you pick some appropriate Boston delicacy (delicacy please!!!! as defined by a reasonable person :D ) to send to me if the Red Sox lose. Is...

OK, are the Rockies about to get their hats handed to them by the Red Sox?

I'm looking outside at a beautiful day, trademark Colorado sunshine and a bare inch of snow on the ground. Supposed to be in the 70s by Wednesday. Hardly mid-winter Boston snow. :)

I'm actually kind of surprised at the relatively low salary for the stress, high pressure, and visibility involved in the manager position.

Of course this is a comment by a total baseball n00b.

Continuing my baseball education, basically by keeping my door open at work, I learned today which is the highest number: combination of the Diamondbacks and Rockies payrolls, or Red Sox payroll.

I went in to talk to one of the other attorneys at the firm yesterday and he could barely talk. I said, sympathetically, "got a cold"? Nah, he had been at the Rockies game, and he had yelled himself hoarse. :D Holby, thanks for the background on the Rockies. Will help me fake the watercool...

because Draco mastered Dumbledore (when did that happen? ) In Half Blood Prince, when Dumbledore and Harry turned up on the top of the astronomy tower after Dumbledore drank the potion around the locket horcrux. Dumbledore, in his last act with his wand, immobilized Harry and Draco blew Dumbledore'...

Exactly, Nin! Also, they wouldn't have been that old. James and Lilly were born in ..... 1960? And Harry was born in 1981? (forgetting the dates exactly). So, even if they were old when James was born (like, say 40), they would only have been 60ish. Also we see that Great Auntie Muriel is 107, so it...

Well, the last time Gryffindor's sword was pulled out of the sorting hat, it wasn't really Voldemort who was watching, right? It was Tom Riddle--and he was just a memory. He had the spirit of Voldemort and even the knowledge of Voldemort since he was a "captured" form of Voldemort at a yo...

I agree with your thoughts of the strangely repellent infant in the train station, although I have to say I am scratching my head as to why it was there. I guess it was the piece of the soul in the lightning scar that "died" with Harry? Also, I agree with Teremia, that the sorting hat plac...

Well, at this point, trolling the internet reveals that some have posted a summary of the whole book, including all major details. I am somewhat amazed that all this information is available. I'm impressed with Rowling--there are twists that never occurred to me! She's just so inventive. :) Still lo...

Twenty-seven years is a big chunk of a woman's life.

Especially since you so obviously married when you were about 7 years old. ;)

My current predicament, since I'm married to a non-geek type, is whether I expose myself to the ridicule I'll inevitably receive if I go out at midnight and get the book, and read all night. The advantage of that strategy is that my 2 year old and 6 year old won't interrupt my blissful read for at l...

I was completely unspoiled for all of the other HP releases (mostly because I didn't care enough to go seeking out the information online). Again, for me, it is the little details that make the books, not what happens. And like you say, nel, knowing somebody dies but knowing nothing about the contex...

I just wasted a bunch of time on the internet trolling for spoilers. :P I can't help myself! Anyways, I found a chapter listing that appears genuine, and a epilogue that must be fake. Anybody else finding themselves fatally attracted to spoilers? (i don't want to discuss the particulars of the spoil...
