Here is a page on factcheck.org describing three new ads that the McCain camp has released (two are radio ads) that they claim contain "multiple false and misleading claims about Obama's tax proposals." More Tax Deceptions Not surprisingly, I don't like this kind of thing at all. I didn't ...

That's interesting, sf. I had heard that Cheney would not be appearing, but I would not at all be surprised to learn that he was. It would seem very strange for the sitting VP not speak at the convention. Nor do I really believe that it will be damaging to McCain to have either the president or the ...

No, it is still a huge longshot that the lawsuit will have any effect on the Hobbit films. Under the terms of the Agreements, the only way that could happen would be if the plaintiffs actually prevail at trial, and even then it would be very likely at all. Basically what is still going on is that th...

Thanks for the info, Brian. Very interesting. Here's another interesting fact about Exxon Mobil. Which presidential candidate do you think received more donations from it's employees? That's right, Barack Obama. Although McCain has received several times more total donations from oil company employe...

Here's an interesting quote of de Toro's from an article yesterday in the TimesOnline: Of his Hobbit project, he says: “I’m trying to be faithful to what I read when I was young. That’s The Hobbit I’m serving. I cannot serve a Peter Jackson film. We also hope to bridge the trilogy. We will create an...

wow, didn't even know this, but The first joint event for Obama and McCain will be at my church! http://saddlebackcivilforum.com/index.html I may try to get tickets, but I imagine it's going to be quite the nightmare to actually be there. I'll probably just watch it online. hal, I would try to go, ...

It's working! :D yov, I too, felt that it was a "hell of a post" but I think one that presents extremely strongly held opinions as if they are facts, which always makes me suspicious. When I get sufficient time, I will try to respond to it at length to provide my own sense of where the poi...

Yup! ;) But not enough to outweigh the things that make me not want to vote for McCain (including, to be honest, to what extent he has, in my opinion failed to follow that principle).

I see no point to this at all, other than trying to be provocative for the sake of being provocative. Generally we frown on just posting a link with no discussion, as well. Unless an argument can be made that this is jumping point to a productive discussion, I will lock this thread.

soli, kindly stop referring to the points that others make as "rubbage" or words that effect. You can dispute what others say without using such insulting language. As you have been repeatedly told before.

I liked it a great deal, too. Honestly, sf, I couldn't think of a less valuable tool for choosing a presidential candidate. soli, thanks for sharing that article. At the very least, it is helpful to know the thoughts behind the thinking of those who think differently than I do. There was much in tha...
