Great speech by Edwards. Even better by Obama. Both reached out to Clinton. For her part, Clinton made a statement that it would be a "grave mistake" for her supporters to choose McCain over Obama. The RNC immediately put out a statement saying "Just as Sen. Clinton herself has questi...

Cerin, I would be shocked if Edwards did not make a point of praising Clinton, as he should.

Frelga, I'll look forward to seeing what post you actually meant, if you can find it.

Which post of mine? (the forum software's search function is pretty useless for long threads) The only other post that I could find that you have made here that mentions "mercedes" is this one: Excuse me, Holby? If one wants to compare the cost to the nation, then the proportion of nation...

I'm going to split off the discussion of health care. Please don't make any responses that relate both to that issue and the election while the split is in process. Edit: I see yov has started a new thread, which complicates things. I guess I'll leave this one alone, and just "encourage" p...

But all places where Hillary has won have the "worst demographics for Obama" and those are all the republican states, and swing states... hal, you really need to get your facts straight before you post. In fact, the whole reason that Obama has essentially won the nomination is that he con...

Thanks for posting that, Faramond. I don't think it is any less convincing than some of the more extravagant estimates that we have seen. To paraphrase Holby (I think) from another context, the truth is probably someplace in between. soli, those exit poll numbers are concerning, but I do think they ...

superwizard, I too fervently hope to see a Palestinian state firmly in place, living in peace with Israel. I too have many ethical dilemnaswith much of what the Israeli government has done in the past. And I too have many ethical dilemnas with what "the other side" has done, as well.

[ot]Nice to see you here, Ethel[ot]

hal, I have heard Obama speak very movingly of his conversion to Christianity. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I think I'll hold on to my own.

I've read The Audacity of Hope and I really have no idea what you are talking about, hal.

Quite true. The only relevance that the popular vote has is as a factor to be considered by the superdelegates (one factor among many, Cerin :)). It is quite clear which way the superdelegates are going. Landslides in WV and Kentucky are not going to change that.

Obama currently leads the popular vote by 846,801, if you include estimates for IA, NV, ME, and WA. Even without those states, he leads by 736,579. Okay, let's add in FL, just for kicks. He still leads by 441,807. Let's get really wacky and add-in Clinton's votes for MI, without giving Obama any vot...

Obama picked up four more superdelegates today. AP is reporting that at this rate he is likely to receive the 2025 delegates needed to clinch the nomination (unless the number changes due to MI and FL) by the time the primaries are finished. Speaking of Michigan and Florida, Obama will be campaignin...

Strickland would be a good choice, politically. It would help nail down Ohio, and possibly other related swing states like Pennsylvania. It also might help mollify Clinton supporters, since he was such a strong supporter of hers.

I don't see his age is a big problem.

I am posting here purely in my capacity as a poster. soli, it makes me ineffably sad that someone of your intelligence could be so misguided, misinformed, and so very mistaken. If you can't tell the difference between a religion and an ideology than I feel very sorry for you, and (to the extent that...
