I meant from the perspective of already being attracted to someone—then judging them on their appearance and not pursuing the relationship. I understand and agree that physical attraction has to be there in any relationship that involves sex.

I like the trilogy because it's fantasy, but it's told in such a realistic way, and involves so many interesting aspects of geology that correspond to our world, that it feels like SF to me.
