Yeah, it's pretty odd. She probably means they're modeling Tauriel after a female character in LotR, but I'm not sure who. I doubt they'll be rehashing Éowyn, Galadriel, or Arwen. Goldberry (or Shelob) wouldn't make sense. Are we forgetting any historical characters in the appendices? The First Age ...

I've been avoiding most of the recent media. I haven't seen many of the TV spots and have only listened to a little bit of the soundtrack. It will let me be surprised like I was with FotR, and it keeps me from setting expectations too high if it's a disappointment.

Please let Humphries' comments be a joke (as in a joke by Humphries, not one in the movie).

Let's not forget the Gandalf/Galadriel makeout scene too. Maybe that will explain why Celeborn wants to see Gandalf in Fellowship and why he's so grumpy.

The silly bumbling dwarves also suddenly transform into badass warriors at the Battle of Five Armies, powerful enough that the 13 of them charging out temporarily turns the tide. Their characterization is not entirely consistent, and I think it would be best if PJ finds a happy medium.

I dunno...I always found Gollum a little funny because of the way he talkses.

He's more threatening at the end of the teaser, so we'll see how it turns out. Hopefully they're just highlighting his lighter moments for the trailer.

Yeah, I'm a little wary about Gollum, though the "fair enough" line was good. Hopefully he'll calm down once they actually start with the riddles.

The Gandalf/Galadriel conversation is in the comic-con reports. Gandalf says that Saruman thinks the strong are the ones who rule the fates of many, but he small deeds of kindness by people like Bilbo matter more.
