They can, sometimes. They obviously don't have the force of majority opinions, but they can be cited. And sometimes, the basis for a dissent can become the basis for the majority in a future case. That was situation in this very case.

Sadly, the most likely path to keeping Trump from returning to the White House probably involves Biden having some kind of medical emergency that forces him to step aside. Although assuming that Harris would then become the nominee, I'm not sure that she would fare any better than Biden.

Ugh, Trump's defenders are (willfully?) misunderstanding what it means that the FBI was authorized to "engage" with the Secret Service as part of the search. It's clear from the context that the meaning is "work with," but Trump fans think it means "shoot at." Leave it...
