My assistant director recently had surgery to remove a cyst and was just told she has ovarian cancer. :( Any prayers for her are appreciated. She just turned 24 last week. I feel so sad for her.

I enjoyed it. Haven't reread it, so it wasn't a favorite, but it was an easy read. I read it on a trip while traveling, and it was a good book for that.

I send a "picture text" to my email address and it comes in as an attachment. I don't have a smart phone or anything, either.

We have so many free texts a month and never come close to the limit, so it works for me. :)

I love that we have such a fantastic view of the sunset out our living room windows. I can't seem to help but take tons of pictures of it, too. Here's some of my favorites: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y240/rebecca404/IMG_4435.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y240/rebecca404/IMG_4415....

Someone posted this on facebook and I thought of this thread...sorry if it's been posted already or anything, I haven't been keeping up lately. Ireland's Unbelievably Good Commercial for Marriage Equality This may just be the best commercial out there on the subject of marriage equality. And it come...

Did you see my post in The Parlour concerning the Room Settings ideas? I took the liberty to make a few of my own using your pictures as a base, and then created some, uh, let's say more "unique" ones of possibilities in our apartment. I'm sure you will find them fantastic (I'm especially ...

I'm going to see it tomorrow with theduffster and my younger sister. She surprised all of us by reading all 7 books this summer, despite always saying she didn't like the books that much. :) I'll probably drag Holby to go see it in a few weeks, if it ends up being good enough to watch twice in the t...

I love all the flowering trees where I live. A few weeks ago I took the little boy that I work with on a walk down the street so we could both photograph the cherry blossoms: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y240/rebecca404/cherryblossomwalk028.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y240/rebecca404/ch...

Just trying to give a non-comic book geek's point of view. :P She's been pretty vocal all day about her hatred for this movie.

And yeah, I kind of think I have to agree with Voronwë on this one. Sorry! :blackeye:

Well, I didn't see the movie, so I can't really, really comment, but I'll try to explain what I think she was complaining about. She commented on the frontal nudity, but that wasn't what she meant by the "porno" comment. I guess there was a sex scene that she said was awfully explicit. &qu...

I haven't seen it, but my roommate was just telling me about watching it last night. She complained for about 5 minutes about it and how much she hated it. Some of her thoughts, "I regret seeing that, ugh." "Even the scenes that weren't violent were so disingenuous." "I'm ju...

Probably lots for me, but at the moment I'm going to have to agree with those who said Stephen King. I like Dean Koontz (even though a large number of his books are "trashy," too :P ), so I tried to read a bunch of books by Stephen King. The Cell was just dreadful, Misery was ok (but ick! ...

Yeah, I think Dawn Treader has some great potential. Lots of little adventures, but most aren't important enough that they can't be cut if they want to focus on the others. Eustace turning into a dragon, the pool with golden "statues" in it, and just them sailing in general should all be f...
