Re: The (no longer) much too early 2024 election thread
We were biking on one of the bike paths in Waukesha county. We didn't realize that there was a Trump rally there today. Loads of .. erm. * cough * supporters. The area is very wealthy. Huge homes. Because our economy is so bad. They sure don't look like they are hurting. At all. *sigh*

Re: The (no longer) much too early 2024 election thread
Oh, I'm sorry. Yes, we are fine. I didn't realize that was not a familiar term (in less 'red' parts of the county). Here's the Wikipedia definition. We were at a stop light perpendicular to the truck so the people behind him got most of it. It was also much thicker and darker than in this video beca...

Yeah, I think I saw that piece. Polling doesn't always accurately predict elections.
On another note, we (more specifically our Prius) was coal-rolled yesterday. That hasn't happened in awhile. I'm guessing Trump supporters are ramping up.

Re: Games, Riddles, Puzzles, and other Distractions
This was tricky, and I'm pretty sure it must be US Centric! I don't know what it was--with a couple exceptions, it's certainly not how I remember things. Either they're doing some wordplay that went over my head, or things have changed since the last time I checked. Are the two of you referring to ...

Re: Nature Pics
We saw 3 bald eagles today, which is quite something for this area. Two were a nesting pair and the other we saw glide over us as we were biking. They really must be making a come-back.

Re: The (no longer) much too early 2024 election thread
A distinction between a reporter and a journalist, perhaps? In my humble opinion, a reporter is an information gatherer, an observer. They give us the nightly news. Local news. Weather. Fairly straightforward stuff. A journalist should be able to gather a lot of information by doing the right interv...

Yeah, there were too many variables in the remaining choices, even with my good start, to choose a 2nd word without winnowing down the options. I don't like playing

Re: Games, Riddles, Puzzles, and other Distractions
You are welcome Inanna! Which opening word is that? The most common letters used in American English words are: E, A, R, I, O, T, N, S, L, & C. Mileage may vary depending upon what list you use. In the past I have started with SLATE, STALE, STARE, SOARE, or SALET but I often had issues choosing ...

I don't have satellite service/don't listen to Howard Stern's show, but from interviews I've seen, he's gone through therapy and he's not quite the 'shock jock' he once was.
