Re: Not enough Whisky for this Tango Foxtrot

People Got Sick at a Conspiracy Conference. They’re Sure It’s Anthrax. Bonus content: While Oltmann said he was “sick, sick,” he claimed his symptoms were tempered because he was already taking the antibiotic doxycycline as a result of impaling his leg on an arrow in an accident in his brother’s ga...

Re: The challenges ahead (Biden's America)

"Manchin has also told colleagues he believes that Americans would fraudulently use the proposed paid sick leave policy, specifically saying people would feign being sick and go on hunting trips, a source familiar with his comments told HuffPost." Just because that's what he would do does...

Re: The challenges ahead (Biden's America)

So that's a problem but I'm not sure effing over everyone else is the solution. Nice thing to say about your constituents, BTW. Real classy.

Re: The challenges ahead (Biden's America)

Closing schools made sense when it happened in 2020. Now, though, with vaccines and pills, it's silliness. Unless there're so many students and staff out sick that the schools can't function, there's no reason to shut down. But I don't think anyone with the authority to close schools is taking the c...

Re: 2020 Election: Predictions, Results and Reactions

I feel like Meadows is trying to have it both ways. He seems to have handed over some pretty incriminating material before he started putting on this display of not cooperating. NE Brigand: the left wing organizers were pretty vocal about not showing up on Jan. 6. They knew what those guys wanted an...

Re: The challenges ahead (Biden's America)

I noticed something interesting about the way the jobs report got reported yesterday. In the morning, there was much doom and gloom about the disappointing number of jobs added. In the evening, NPR at least was offering a more nuanced take. Yes, the jobs added was low...but the unemployment number a...

Re: Gun Control Debate

Day of the shooting the kid was caught searching the internet for ammo on a school computer and then drawing pictures of people getting shot. His parents were notified both times. For some reason, they didn't take him home and the school did not send him home. Then he opened fire. Looks to me like e...

Re: Will Roe v Wade be overturned? How do you feel about that?

I admit I didn't pay much attention to the Udall/Gardner campaign. I read later that Udall did a bad job which is why we ended up with Gardner...who we booted six years later. My vote for Udall was pretty much a lock for a lot of reasons, but the biggest one was this: Gardner was the CO-4 House Rep ...

Re: The challenges ahead (Biden's America)

It's impressive. It probably won't persuade anyone hellbent on twisting the tragedy into something they can use in the acquisition of power, fame, and/or money, but it's nice to see the WI Senate delegation standing up for their constituents.

Re: The Rittenhouse and McMichael/Bryan trials

To me, the prosecutor who moved to protect the McMichael's facing charges for what amounts to dereliction of duty is an even bigger deal than the trial results. How often do you see something like that happen? Also, if Johnson's facing charges for her role in trying to keep a lid on the case, should...

Re: The challenges ahead (Biden's America)

It's a weird disconnect. When you ask people how they feel about their personal finances, they feel good, but when asked about the nation as a whole, it's a very different story.

Re: The challenges ahead (Biden's America)

No, but Trump had the best genes and best body ever and didn't really need a doctor ever. Or something.

Biden's not doing bad for 78. Hiatal hernias show up in my family on occasion. My cousin had to have surgery for one.
