Re: The Russia Investigations and other Trump-related cases

A few years ago, I had a rather contentious call with someone in the office of Rob Portman, a U.S. Senator from Ohio, after Portman voted to lift sanctions on a company owned by Deripaska when the Treasury Dept. claimed that Deripaska had given up financial control of that company. I felt that deter...

Re: The Russia Investigations and other Trump-related cases

I wonder if the reason that Trump brought this up unprompted in a recent meeting with Republican donors is that George Stephanopoulos has filmed an interview with Christopher Steele and Trump heard about it? I doubt there will be anything new in the interview, but ABC probably reached out to Trump f...

Unlike former President Trump, I am into Golden Slumbers, which is a fine song from one of my favorite Beatles albums.

[puts hand to earpiece]

Wait, I have a correction to offer. Apparently he's going to carry that weight a long time.

In March 2018, Jeff Sessions, Attorney General in the administration of President Donald Trump, fired Andrew McCabe, the Deputy Director of the FBI, two days shy of the date on which McCabe, who had already announced his retirement from the Bureau, would be eligible to receive a pension. Re: Not enough Whisky for this Tango Foxtrot

So apparently every person who ever visited a website run by the state of Missouri is a hacker and will be prosecuted. A few days ago, a St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter found that the social security numbers of teachers were included in the HTML code of a state website and was thus available for an...

Re: 2022 U.S. Congressional Elections

Donald Trump says that unless the "Presidential Election Fraud of 2020" is "solve[d]" (by which I think he means that his loss must be somehow overturned), "Republicans will not be voting in '22 or '24." Will he stick with that message? Or will he succumb to pressure fr...

In a Defense Sentencing Memorandum about sentencing, the attorney for one of the January 6 defendants flatly refers to the events of that day as a "a coup attempt--fomented intentionally by right wing actors who used data mining and psychological manipulation." She's trying to use that arg...

The first person credited with thru-hiking the entire Appalachian Trail, Earl Shaffer, was 29 when he accomplished that feat in 1948, walking from Georgia to Maine. I hadn't previously seen this video from June of a host on OAN apparently calling for his own execution. How bizarre.

(This week we learned that OAN's founder claims the network came into existing at the behest of AT&T executives.)

Steve Bannon has refused to cooperate with a subpoena from the committee investigating January 6.

He's doing so because former President Trump has claimed executive privilege over Bannon's testimony.

Bannon hasn't worked for the President since August 2017.
