Tolkien Film

Seeing the trailer of the upcoming film about Tolkien's life, I am hopefully optimistic about seeing a decent movie.
Who has seen it? What is your impression? Have you heard of the release date?

I’m kind of a LZ fanatic, if you can’t tell. You have excellent taste in music my friend. We should get along very well. I love both the studio version, the 30 minute version and the live version of Dazed and confused. I saw them in 1973 and had planned to again later, but Robert Plant's son died a...

Yes, that is very true! If I was brought up in only one religion, (when I was born, we were Catholic ;)) I probably wouldn't have thought about questioning anything. But being exposed to so many different ideas naturally gave me lots of questions. :) I was brought up in only one religion (if by tha...

I agree with you line of thinking, truehobbit , that gun ownership + fear= potential disaster. There are usually alternative ways to handle frightening experiences, if you stop and think clearly or have a "what if" plan. Another interesting story in a neighboring town: there have been nume...

Yes, if I know a parent wants their child to be in my class, I can tell the school counselor. She helps with placing the children in classrooms. It's a dificult thing to do, as the placement team trys to honor the requests, but has to have the classes equal in terms of financial status, racial make-...

My sincere sympathies go out to those who've lost loved ones. My heart is breaking for you. This type of tragedy brings the fact home to me that you never know when your last day on earth will be. I hope to live each day with purpose and let my family and friends know how much I love them. Meli

I don't know what the answer is . I do know that when more folks own and use guns, more folks will be injured/killed by them-it's a matter of probability. people that commit crimes will find ways to use guns, gun-control laws or not. Do guns really keep us safe? Last week a woman drove her child to ...

Thank's Voronwë!!! You're the best!! Athrabeth's words help explain why Aragorn is someone I care for very deeply. He IS Envinyatar, the restorer. Although not stated outright, you can see how Aragorn was "chosen" for this task of restoration. His Arnor/Gondor bloodline, the years he ...

Really like that pic, Sam. It has an "exotic" feel to it. Did you gbuy any oranges????

Reminds me of the movie A Cloclwork Orange, though I was just a young thing back then.
