Oh yes, just generally speaking. Though I have jumped back into the exciting (read: excruciating) search for future worthy candidates. My post was only meant to indicate that I hope that search bears fruit someday . ;)

Something about Mister Rogers that I was not aware of before the movie is that he was a devoutly Christian man his whole life and explicitly saw his work on the show as part of his spiritual mission as an ordained minister. I found that very interesting because he was consciously doing work that he saw as coming from his Christian beliefs, but as far as I could tell felt very little need to proselytize any specific religious ideas or dogma. Despite never once mentioning the Bible or Jesus, I couldn't help but think that his life ended up enbodying the [i]idea[/] of Jesus that I was always taught better than the actual biblical stories of Jesus ever did for me. (Which is not meant as a slam against Christians; just saying that those Bible stories never resonated much with me.)

He saw his mission the way Christians are supposed to see theirs: to share God's unconditional love, without so much as a credit line. He knew why he was doing what he did, but what mattered to him was that he helped people, whether or not they ever associated that help with any religion at all—and whether or not anyone else ever found out about what he did. The point was to help, to make things better, where he could. This is why he is so loved. He was for real.

This video claims he was supportive of at least one gay man quite early on.

Just had to share this here, cuz it says something important about role models and representation for young girls: :D

(Note: this is NOT a real Post cover, but a modern one by photographer Al Abbazia. However, the Post DID feature W.W. during WWII in a very similar cover.)

Al Abbazia:

It's beyond gratifying that the granddaughter of William Marston, creator of Wonder Woman, found me and took a special liking of my art piece, saying it honored her family. My daughter, Emily Claire Abbazia (who came up with the concept) and myself thank you Christie Marston :)

And thank you to the wonderful Shiree Collier for her excellent modeling and Gal Gadot for that pretty face. #wonderwoman — with Shiree Collier.

Here's the WWII cover:

And yes, I know, it's a shame that Wonder Woman has to show so much skin to get featured on a magazine, but we'll let that argument lie for the moment...

If she wants to show her skin, it’s her business.

She’s a good role model. My daughter dressed up as Wonder Woman for her “superheroes” Birthday party. AND then my aunt, as a surprise, joined her! :)

Where could I get that poster, sunny?

Here's the artist's page: http://martiniavenue.com/photos-3/index.html

His art is listed for sale here: https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/al-abbazia.html
Unfortunately, the search function for their site sucks bigtime, so you are probably better off contacting the artist directly. The posters are digitally enhanced photos.

I am sure certain people on this board [cough...Frelga...cough] are going to want the Captain Carter poster, too!

Edit: More Agent Carter and Wonder Woman posters here: http://martiniavenue.com/photos-6/index.html

Second edit: I clicked on his Travel Posters, expecting them to be commercial. They are not. They are for places like Hogwarts, King's Landing and Starfleet Academy. One of them features the Tardis, and the one for Brooklyn features Captain America! :horse:

What a cool guy! :D

Sorry...can't get enough of this!

Here's an idea for a movie someone should pay attention to... http://martiniavenue.com/photos-5/files ... -full.html

No, but I've noted your opinion and will seek it out the next time I'm looking for something new to watch.

No, but if it's not baseball and came out this year, I probably haven't seen it.

Right? Right? 15:3 win on Monday (it would have been more, but Rangers put in position players to pitch and no one wants to unload on the poor schmucks). Tuesday, a comeback from 10:2 in the 6th to a 13:10 win. Wednesday, down 5:1 in the 5th, down 5:4 in the 9th with 2 outs and 2 strikes, win 6:5. They have better record than the entire National League and AL Central.

Translation for non-baseball people - a team consisting of mostly young no-name players, started season looking sad, is now winning in a spectacular fashion.

Sorry for another Osgilliation, but right now each game is more dramatic than most movies.
