Given that the "Thrain the Broken" figure has not been recalled (as Bolg was), and Philippa's strong public statements, in reference to DOS, regarding the fleshing out of the Thrain backstory, I would imagine that we will see Thrain at the beginning of DOS, and this imdb guy may have forgotten...
He sounds like he doesn't know much (if anything) about Tolkien, so he may have been confused.
I just don't think it's likely that PJ would open one of these films with a pure talking scene in Bree.
There must be a flashback within the flashback, no?

Good chance of it. On the other hand, it does seem to be a big thing to completely forget, and he has been pretty detailed in his answers. We'll see.
He is, so far as I know, the only person that has revealed any details. Hopefully we'll get some more solid info in the next few days (I know Telemachos at TORC is going to see it early again, but not until next Tuesday.)

The postman just delivered my Weta Chronicles: DoS Art and Design...
Shame I have to go out to work for the next 3 hours and can't look at it!
Have just peek inside at the costume designs and it's gorgeous!!!
Also noticed advance publicity for the next volume, which will be green, and is intriguingly entitled DoS: Cloaks & Daggers!

Interesting, a book all about the creation of one character.

Where?!!!????
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Ahh, this is what I've been waiting for. Second row down. There's spots for all of them in the living room. http://www.unitedcutlery.com/Category.aspx?cat=HB
That sword of Thranduil is absolutely beautiful....looks like there's a story behind it, too - the product description says that it
I wonder what happened to the other...was one of two twin swords crafted for Thranduil by the finest smiths of the Woodland Realm. The blade and flowing hilt are forged with engraved vine and leaf symbols representing the forests of the Greenwood, all forged from a single piece of silver Elven steel

Was lucky enough to get Dwalins double axes at 50% off and also picked up the bow and arrow of a certain Elvish young lady with healing powers.
I was hoping for an orc bow and arrow to go next to it but they seem to only want to produce the hero weapons - with the exception of the Azog mace which is a bit too bulky for my tastes.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers
