We have the famous Black Squirrels of Kent State, fwiw.

(I wish Kent State was more well-known for that.)

Wilder Ranch State Park, here in Santa Cruz! A trail that I have not personally done before but that Beth has often run and is actually primarily a mountain bike trail, which winds up a hill that looks out over Monterey Bay (that is Monterey in the distance across the water).

:salmon: (for the bobcat picture) :P

That does look lovely! I am missing beautiful landscapes. Thankfully, I'm going to Hawaii in less than a month.

Wave when you pass over us!

Which island are you going to (not that it matters; they are all beautiful)?

Beautiful! And what perfect weather, too.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Yes, it was a quite a beautiful day! A little hazy out towards Monterey, but as bright a blue as you could imagine around here.

That big tall tree is one house over from my inlaws, and has at least one eagle’s nest in it. My daughter informed me that it was an eagle, not a hawk because of the markings on its wings. We see 2-3 of these eagles circling the blue sky everyday.

That reminds me of this really cool family of little feathered dinasours that hangs out around my office building. :)Image

I  them.

Oh, yes!!! You should love them! Sandhills? They fly over in large flocks as they migrate, and they make the neatest sound.

The smaller feathered dinosaurs at work yesterday were very alarmed by (and vocal about) the larger feathered dinosaur perched at the top of a tree, hunting them. :D
