Wow! Each cake is more amazing than the next.

The Smaug one is particularly amazing! Why are such awesome cakes on a site called "cakewrecks"?

The awesome person who maintains that blog periodically makes a post highlighting stunningly beautiful cakes to counter the usual posts about hilariously awful cakes. :)

Yes! The white city was awesome! And Smaug didn’t look like a cake at all

Destroying the book to make this seems very wrong to me.

Yeah, I am always uncomfortable with art made by destroying books.

That's pretty cool, Inanna. Pretty cool, indeed!

Yes. I might have to break it for things I really need which have gone kaput this year, like my black flats. But this....

Sigh.

Just realized that I am not applying that embargo to books AT all. Ah well. I don’t count books as possessions i guess

Books are air.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Also saying as a freelance writer that books (and magazines and newspapers) are tax deductible. Any books/magazines/newspapers. Just saying
