Silver Linings Playbook

Post by halplm »

I just saw this yesterday without even knowing it was an oscar contender in a bunch of categories.

I thought it was a great film, but I'm surprised it was up for best picture.

I haven't seen it. My friend saw it and said it was good. Is it sad? I don't like sad movies.

Well, parts are sad, but it has a happy ending. I was actually surprised.

It has lots of bad language, but it doesn't take actors to do that. Everyone's crazy, and that does take some acting, but I don't know why it would add up to one of the "best pictures." It's basically a romantic comedy where everyone is crazy which makes it a drama.

I guess I'm looking for something deeper in my "best picture" films, but I haven't seen most of them this year, so I don't really know.

I would recommend Silver Linings Playbook if the language thing won't bother you.
