Yov just so you know, I have no answers to these wuestions and haven't really any firm feelings.
I am just listening and trying to understand. Trying to get as many different points of view as I can.
I also realize that I am not able to phrase my questions very well, and I am not being as clear as I should.

I do believe we have something other than our bodies that connect us.
I don't have a name for it, but many people call it a soul.
I believe that connectivity is part of some type of higher power, and I believe that is somehow connected with some form of purpose.

Other than that, I am pretty much open to any ideas or beliefs.

I think I do to. But I don't much think that it changes the so-called meaning of life nor our moral values. :)

I believe in right and wrong, and I believe in a conscience as well.
To me that had to initiate or stem from somewhere or something.
I can't fathom how that can be a product of accidental exploding gas.
There had to be a starting point or genesis.

Right and wrong are not black and white. There are different shades and perspectives.
Somehow though I feel there is some kind of universal morality that we posess as an instinct.

I disagree. Morality is one of the many requirements for any conscious and self-aware species / community to succeed. Without it, our numbers would be low and progress minimal.

I don't think it's 'out there as part of some universe thing', its a specific wiring of the brain required for a successful civilization.

You are assuming civilization is necessary.
Who is to say that we can't just eat, reproduce and die?
What has removed us from basic needs only?
Why have our brains developed so we feel the need to care about morality or any other community endeavor??

Simple: we are more succesful - in pretty much every way, including meeting our basic needs - working as a society then as individuals.

There's something of a power... But, hey, our feeble minds can barely wrap themselves around the idea of an infinitely expanding universe and whatnot.

I don't thing 'god' is a creator, the end all be all... I think god is a power or energy that binds everything in the universe together. I think I think that, atleast. Atleast for now.
