If God hadn't made cushions, angry people would have had to invent them.

Very late response.

No longer a Christian. Best way to describe me would be indifferent regarding religion. I was a very active participant in my church for the first twenty-six years of my life, but ever since I can remember I have always felt more in tune with the archaic warrior codes than Christianity. I realized I had nothing positive to offer the group based on the belief system, so I departed so as not to ruffle them. Luckily, it didn't create a serious rift with my family.

Thank you for responding, Folca. I appreciate every response and thought.

I am definitely in a holding pattern till our new pastor comes. Then we'll see.

Like any family, the church drives me crazy and yet I also love them. They have been a source of encouragement and comfort, especially to Freddy, as we've learned the news of Freddy's dad's cancer.

I still have a lot to sort out, though.

Well, any organization has its idiosyncracies. I hope things evolve better for you and you find what you need soon. Best wishes.
