Weird, but beautiful!
I'm glad you photographed it.

Re: Nature Pics
Ohhh! I found an explanation. It's a rare ice formation called an "ice spike". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_spike It's caused when a small body of water freezes. First the water on top freezes until there's only a small hole left. Then as the water underneath begins to freeze , it pushes the water out the hole where it freezes and builds upon itself. I think all those little striations in the formation are tracks where the water droplets ran as they froze. Mine is called an inverted pyramid ice spike. Many other forms are possible of course.

Maria, that is fascinating. It made me think of those 'sailing rocks' in Death valley where they finally solved the mystery of how the large boulders move. Nature does some weird and wonderful things!

That's really cool and interesting.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

I may save it and put it in the deep freezer.
That's cool about the sailing rocks in Death Valley. (Just watched a video about them on youtube.) I hadn't heard about those before.

Are those wild turkeys? They look too magnificent to be wild.

They are both. Wild. And magnificent.

Those are magnificent for wild turkeys!
You didn't happen to see any cranberries rolling down the road, did you?
Green bean casserole?

Re: Nature Pics
I saw a couple of pheasants running across the road yesterday morning. I thought they were turkey hens at first, from the silhouettes, but when I got closer, I could see they were definitely pheasants. VERY rare for around here. I didn't get a pic though. They run pretty fast!
