Flat Earth? Really?

Here is some news that is either comforting or depressing: there are still flat Earth truthers out there. Prominent among them is the very successful rapper B.o.B (you might know him from... this one?), who has spent the last 24 hours or so tweeting a lot of good flat Earth memes and theories.
I really find it mind boggling that these people still exist.

To be honest, I think a lot of them are trolls. I follow a lot of NASA feeds on Instagram, and there is a regular in the comments who claims to be a Flat Earther. This under photos of Earth from a million miles off, etc. He is definitely trolling, and the feeds have so many followers that he's always got fresh meat to feed off of.

I can't believe that any sane, rational human being of normal intelligence could believe in this day and age that the Earth is flat.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

:nono: :suspicious:

I honestly can only think that these people do it for publicity and don't really believe what they're saying.

Otherwise, :help:

There are apparently plenty of people who believe the earth is less than 10,000 years old. So...why not a flat earth?

Yes, I have no doubt that there are a significant number of people who really believe that the Earth is flat, and are not just saying so to be a troll. Whether any of these people could be described as sane, rational human beings of normal intelligence is another question.
