What's interesting is that on the libertarian/authoritarian scale, Lali and I (I think, skimming through everyone's scores) have the closest numbers to each other. I wonder whether we overlapped on a bunch of issues (that maybe we haven't gotten around to discussing on this board yet ) or had different areas where we are less unabashedly to the left than our comrades V and T.

Looks like I'm on the same wavelength as Nelson Mandela, Alexis Tsipras, the Dalai Lama, Jill Stern, Stewart Alexander, and Ghandi.
I'm far, far away from Mitt Romney, who is not so far away from Barack Obama (whose re-election I applaud), Binny Netanyahu, and Julia Gillard (for whom I voted!)

It would be interesting to see where the"average citizen" of various countries lies. Or perhaps a scatter diagram showing where the majority of voters lie.

I stopped at second. They need to define "supporting your country" for it to have any meaning. Presumably, they mean "your government", which is certainly not the only way to support a democratic country when you disagree with its course.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Like Voronwë, I don't put too much store into these sorts of things. This test, in particular, obviously gives away the author's own ideological leanings - globalisation should serve the interests of people rather than multi-national companies? Obviously anyone who disagreed with that would not see it as an either-or. And Barack Obama is in the authoritarian right? Goes to show why it is so difficult to get out of the libertarian left quadrant (and the alternative is 'authoritarian', really?). In my experience, differences in ideological viewpoint come out not through the answers people give, but the questions that they ask in the first place.

I did get the sense that the scaling, given the questions, should not be linear. The questions were designed in such a way as to lump most of the leaders of modern governments over in the upper right, thus sending the message that there's not much distance between them. Well, there's not much distance between here and the nearest star, either, if you use the whole galaxy as your context.
