"Whitey" Bulger, and American Justice Gone Awry

Post by Holbytla »

For now I am reserving this post as a placeholder until I can complete my thoughts.

Some of you are unfamiliar with the tale, and others may have some tertiary knowledge. I hope to post a local view of the events and sorted details of murder, racketeering and corruption that hopefully will implicate the FBI, Governor William Weld (former federal prosecutor in the United States Justice Department), William F Bulger, former Massachusetts Senate President, former president of the University of Massachusetts, and brother of alleged mobster James "Whitey" Bulger Jr who is accused of 19 murders, and who was accused of racketeering and a whole host of other crimes before the feds dropped those charges.

The tale is decades long, the victims and accomplices are numerous and far reaching. An FBI agent is already incarcerated, and hopefully more high profile people will get justice handed to them when this whole thing shakes out over the coming years.

I'll attempt to post some thoughts tomorrow and try to bring those interested parties up to speed on what is an unbelievable tale of corruption and something a Hollywood movie couldn't begin to tell.

A couple of weeks ago when we were in San Diego, a stranger out of blue said to us "so they got Bolger, eh?" At first, I didn't even realize that he was talking to us, until I remembered that I was wearing a Celtics shirt, and Beth was wearing a Red Sox sweatshirt, and so he thought we were from Boston.

I look forward to hearing your further thoughts, Holby.

Say he doesn't end up in the Lockholes does he? I think I've heard this story.
