China calls out US human rights abuses

We often cite countries like the US or China or whomever and say they do this or they don't do that. Or say they aren't any better or are worse than country whatever.

The fact is though that countries perform actions on decisions made by a relatively few people and don't neccessarily reflect the will of the country as a whole. In the case of the US, the government changes fairly frequently and most of the time, the people in power have barely more than 50% of the vote.

China gets slammed for human rights abuses, but in reality those abuses are enacted by a small number of people. The same is true for the US and it is also true that the US at least has methods in place to try and correct abuses.
To wit; Bradley Manning has been moved to a new location while awaiting trial.

Porn is a human rights violation? Whatever, China.

Yeah, that's a bit weird. There's potential for human rights violations within the porn industry just as there's such potential in any industry, but porn as a violation in and of itself? Especially when it's really not that hard to avoid looking at it?

Not that I'm for a second putting myself in the position of championing the Chinese statement, but reading through the article I got the impression that they felt the US were failing to protect their children from the effects of Porn, rather than slamming porn itself.

Do representatives in the two houses really change that frequently? And though Republicans and Democrats may alternate majorities, does US government really differ that greatly between the two?

From my perspective, outside looking in, the nameplate alters, but the same old system trundles on, with the same old elites.
