The second is very poor quality, but some gems therein:

"Very poor" is an understatement.

Speaking of the second link, I understand that Dom and Billy (Merry and Pippin) were quite naughty during the filming. I'm sure that the scene where they're comparing the size of their, um, belts, was only a wee sample of their misdeeds.

No wonder they didn't get to go to Tol Eressëa with Frodo! :P

As Gandalf told Frodo about the Ring, there are some things you just have to grin and bear.

Ah, those were the days! How I wish I were young again, playing Scrabble 'til the wee hours of the morning.

Nice one narya. Although I suspect Tolkien himself was more of a D&D player rather than Scrabble, and wrote a book based on it.

Poppycock! One does not gain employment working on the OED, let alone a chair in English Language and Literature at Oxford University, by playing D&D. Tolkien was a Scrabble man all the way, although he was reportedly quite fond of crossword puzzles, as well. He left D&D to the lads studying to become engineers.
