Of course, this may have no effect, but if Warner loses a lot of money here, how much more pressure will be brought to bear on Jackson to deliver a sure fire hit?

Jackson's take on M-e seems to be a sure-fire success at the box office, even with the HFR divide, so there is probably not much concern in the WB offices.

However, it would be interesting to debate whether it is the Tolkien thumbprint that makes these films a success whatever Jackson does to the original material, in the face of these other recent fantasy movies not doing so well.
There is magic in long-distance friendships. They let you relate to other human beings in a way that goes beyond being physically together and is often more profound.
