Well, you get to have pretty spectacular company, yourself. (As does Tinwë.)

I think I'm getting the better end of that arrangement! And I am so totally out of the loop on this film that I have absolutely no idea what to expect, which may be a good thing ;).

Can't wait to hear what both of you think (personally, I think you are both getting the better end of the arrangement, which is a win-win situation).

So is anybody bothering to seek out the Atmos thing too? To my annoyance, I have to pick between HFR and Atmos since no theater is showing it with both. (I picked HFR.)

Um, hi to you to!

I'd like to check out the Dolby Atmos but the theater i'm going to doesn't have it.

Maybe next viewing. (So nice to see you here!)

Erm. <picks self up>

HFR here, too. There doesn't seem to be a theater where I live offering Dolby Atmos. And in any case, I'm more interested in the visuals on these films. Maybe for a later viewing, if it does show up here.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

<squeeeee!> It's yovi!

I don't know what this is; I'm guessing it's a different sound system. That being said, I have no idea what our theatre has. :blackeye:

I'd go for the HFR Yov, Dolby Surround is still pretty damn good and simply put, the difference is sound isn't as major as the difference in display.

My hope is that HFR means I can watch 3D without getting the weird eyestrain feeling the current technology gives me. Atmos sound would be nice, but not as potentially transformative.

So I drove by my local theatre a few minutes ago and there were about 10 people in line for a 10 pm early release.

I have to admit that for a moment or two I had the urge to park the car and go get in line. It's been years now that I thought I would do just that and tonight I actually have the money and the time to go...

Thanks for the support V...

I had a mind to go just to see the new Del Toro Pacific Rim trailer which is kicking butt all over the place: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vKz7WnU83E (over a million and a half hits in 24 hrs, not bad).

Did you do it, SirD? :D

The thought went through my head last night around 11:30: I'm awake enough to go see the midnight premiere!

(I always am, but that's beside the point.)

Anyway, I'm heading out in an hour or so! From that list, it won't be in Dolby Atmos.
