I vote for Fehr! Please! He could be Bard, couldn't he?
Take my hand, my friend. We are here to walk one another home.

Who's Fehr???

Thr rumour mill has Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds, 300) as front runner for Bard

Oded Fehr.

Nuff sed.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

 Looks like Bard to me. But I'd better take another look just to be sure.

Yep.

Hmm...not bad!

And for all the Armitage fangirls, I've a feeling he's gonna look more like this by the time he's through as Thorin: ;)

Digital Spy article quotes GDT as approving 100% of Freeman, at least...
"I have the perfect actor for every character in the movie, but I don't feel morally correct to saying who now that I'm not directing," he said. "But [as for Martin specifically] absolutely, 100%. I'm a huge fan of his. I love him in The Office and Love Actually."
I wonder how he really feels, having bailed out only a few months before the green light....

You know, in that pic, Freeman does have a sort of middle-aged hobbity look about him...

Suppose this should really go in the "speculation" thread, but it's pretty much a given...

Andy Serkis Will be In The Hobbit, Optimistic It Will Be In New Zealand

Serkis added: "Up to this point, New Zealand has not had a union.

"There are complicated issues...but this is probably the wrong film to pick on because Peter Jackson and the studio has provided so much employment.

"There are thousands of livelihoods at stake."

He went on: "I haven't signed up (to play Gollum). Of course I will be there. I will be there to support Peter Jackson in his endeavour again to pull off what will be an amazing magical feat of cinema, wherever that will be."

Lobelia is mentioned. Otherwise, no.

There will be in the movie, I bet.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

=:) Hmmm, maybe it will be some girl Elves mocking Thorin by shaving off his beard, "thus revealing his manly jawline."

:highfive:

Yeaaaah!

And maybe we'll finally see Legolas's sister that the fanfiction writers know so much about. =:)

Can I be one of those girl Elves, please?

If Oded doesn't look like Bard, who does? No-one. Noooo-one.

Man, now am excited about TH. All it took was photos of sexy men. :D

And that's why we should not complain too much about the hawt she-elves that PJ is probably bound by his contract to include. Straight guys need eye candy, too. ;)

IAWM about Oded and Bard. We can dream, no?

This thread has turned inherently objectionable. Without even going into the bias or the sure to be swarming hoards of objections if this osgilliated into a sw00ning fanboy love of soon to be half nekkid goddesses, may I suggest the latter part of this discussion be moved to Fandom?

:P

and see the evil inherent in the system?

Alternatively, Holby dear, may I suggest "Holby's Cool Guyz Thread with No Icky Gurls Allowed"?

It may be the only satisfaction you gain from The Hobbit, given the likely absence of gurls icky or otherwise from the films.
