<--- doesn't do many crossword puzzles.

It means the answer is two words, the first is nine letters long, the second, four.

- - - - - - - - - / - - - -

Is that EXACTLY how the clue was written? No punctuation marks, no lowercase letters?

I'm wondering if the last two letters stand for e.g. (example) which is a frequently used abbreviation in crossword clues.

Not that this is relevant, but there is a Scottish Golf Environment Group.

I just thought it was an amusing acronym ;)

Sg, Sg...

Stargate?

Sangria?

Stargazer Lily? (At least it has the right number of letters!)

Just look at the letters themselves.

Hint: they don't stand for anything.

Normally one might know a few letters of the answer because they will have solved intersecting clues. ;)

Here's a clue for this one:

A semicolon would serve

If it were Soft With Customers (6) the answer would be Tender.

Tough With Customers (4) Hmm...

I'm going to go with Dues.

Think about it.

Mmmmm ... no. Sorry. :D

Think about the second clue. Does it mean that a semicolon would serve the customer? Or that a semicolon would serve the clue?
